Tottenham enters its second season under José Mourinho in 2020-21, and if history tells us anything, this will be the year when Spurs break their trophy drought as Mourinho so often does in year two.

Here is everything you need to know to stream Tottenham Hotspur live.

Spurs were in the market for big names like Donny van de Beek and Paulo Dybala, but signed neither as of yet. They did sign Matt Doherty and Pierre-Emile Höjbjerg from within the Premier League. They also made the loan of Giovanni Lo Celso permanent in a $35 million move from Real Betis.

Spurs 2019-20 season in review

Spurs had a traumatic season in 2019-20, coming off of a Champions League Final but being so burnt out the team was playing nothing like itself. This ultimately cost beloved manager Mauricio Pochettino his job, in favor of known mercenary José Mourinho.

The comparison between Mourinho and Poch couldn’t be more stark, with José known for winning trophies and “parking the bus”, and Poch being known for incredible attacking maneuvers while not winning a single trophy in his career so far. Spurs chairman Daniel Levy made a calculated risk when making this switch, sacrificing great entertainment and a close relationship between manager and fans, for a manager known as being cold toward media (and fans) but getting results.

Mourinho salvaged the poor start last season to get Spurs into Europa League Qualifying, which could be useful as a lifeline to the Champions League last season. The success of last season will be determined in the years to come, and whether getting rid of Poch is worth the trophies José may or may not bring.

Preview: Stream Tottenham Hotspur vs. Everton

Spurs start this crucial season against a team built in a similar style, Everton. The Blues have bought a new midfield this summer which may bring the two squads level, and both managers are legends in their own rights who have come to their respective clubs to end long trophy droughts. Everton manager Carlo Ancelotti is known for using whichever schemes best suit his players, and considering José is known for a defensive style, its safe to assume Everton will be on the front foot for most of the match.

The key to this game will be how well José has drilled his players defensively after having a full preseason. You’ll also want to see how Everton’s new midfield signings James Rodríguez, Abdoulaye Doucouré and Allan can mesh in their first game as a unit.
